zirconium tungstate Market offers a detailed investigation of the key market elements driving or constraining its development. The examination additionally includes a general arrangement of the present worldwide and local market. Moreover, it incorporates an arrangement of the most recent improvements and developments working in the business, including new item dispatch, arrangements, coordinated efforts, organizations, and joint ventures.

zirconium tungstate is a polymorph with a molecular formula of Zr(WO4)2. It forms a series of phase transitions at high pressure and exhibits negative thermal expansion (NTE). In particular, at 393 kelvin and 1 atmosphere, cubic zirconium tungstate undergoes a quenchable phase transition to a U3O8-type tetragonal phase. At lower temperatures, the cubic phase shows NTE as well. This is attributed to cross-bracing between polyhedra in the crystal structure.

In the case of most materials that display NTE, this effect only occurs within a limited temperature range, above which it rearranges its atomic structure. In the case of zirconium tungstate, however, the negative NTE persists up to a temperature of 1000 kelvin, a value that is much higher than the melting point of metals such as nickel and copper.

To achieve this result, a team of researchers led by Stanford Advanced Materials (SAM) scientists has synthesised zirconium tungstate in an ultra-thin fiber form. This was achieved by an innovative process that combines electrospinning and pyrolysis. The morphologies and microstructures of the as-spun precursor, heat-treated intermediate, and final zirconium tungsstate fibers were characterized using SEM, XRD, and TEM.
